“When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy”.   Rumi

Noora started dancing Brazilian Zouk with Freddy Marinho & Andressa Castelhano in 2011. Zouk quickly turned Noora’s world upside down and since then she has attended numerous workshops, festivals and congresses around the world.

She was one of the first ones to join the Rio Zouk Style Team in 2013 and has performed with the group at Helsinki Zouk Festivals 2014 and 2015, as well as Prague Zouk Congress in 2014. Several classes and workshops have been instructed by her in Helsinki. At the Prague Zouk Congress and 4th Helsinki Zouk Festival in 2015, she taught workshops with Freddy Marinho.

Noora also studied MZouk technique in Barcelona at Spiral Dancers Intensive course in 2012, and participated the MZouk instructor and dancer training in 2013. During this period she assisted Ossi Kimmelma at MZouk courses in Helsinki.

Her trips to Brazil, in 2014, 2015 and 2016, have been dedicated for Zouk and intensive periods of private classes with different teachers, like Val Clemente, China SoulZouk and Ricardo Ferrari (LambaZouk).

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE:

Noora started dancing in a folkdance company “Villet ja Veerat” when she was 9 years old. The group trained both Finnish and Hungarian traditional dances, performed actively in Finland and was invited to perform in more than 20 folkdance festivals around the world during the period of 1996 to 2006.

Since 2009 Noora has studied classical ballet on a weekly basis at Helsingin Tanssiopisto (Helsinki Dance Institute). Regular classes and intensive courses of street dances (house, hiphop) at Helsingin Tanssiopisto have also been part of her solo dancing agenda since 2013.

Samba de Gafieira is Noora’s latest dance addiction. She started in 2014 with regular and private classes in São Paulo (Clube Latino) with Danilo Sucesso. A year later, she continued her samba classes at Jimmy de Oliveira’s Dance School in Rio de Janeiro.

Noora seeks to get all the time more specialized in Brazilian Zouk. She draws inspiration and techniques also from other movement disciplines like yoga, acrobatics and profilaxia. She is a proud co-creator of Dancefulness concept, promoting connection, comfort and presence on the social dance floor. Check the Facebook page for more inspiration and events!

Noora is dedicated to inspire people to find the joy of self-expression through dance.
